Audi A8 starter replacement now a moot issue

One of the first things I noticed when we purchased our new A8 was the obviousness of the front impact zone in the structure. There were basically bolted tubes between the "frame" and the lock carrier (rad support/front end). Clearly any frontal crash was going to be transferred to the front of the engine.
Glad all will be OK in the end.
