Bosch sp plugs

I just took my 97 A8 in for CA smog. Just before leaving home I cleared the
CEL which had complained about a transient miss. It would have cleared
itself given time. During the new CA procedure which involved connecting to
the OBD-II, the mechanic noticed a couple things which elicited the
conversation.

HE SAID that Bosch plugs are notorious for smog test failures.

Any comment?
