90 Audi90Q 20V MAR89 edition - replaced valve stem seals, head-in-place, to
address smoking issue. Aligned flywheel, crank, camshaft at TDC. First
issue was no start.
Thanks for your suggestions. Good news, rotating distributor at TDC to
align rotor, Hall sensor and distributor case got it started with clean
exhaust. Not so good, second issue;
* long (15 sec+) cranking to start - have to jiggle throttle to get it to
catch/start
* idles evenly, light throttle makes it choke, heavy throttle response is
slow for the engine to spool
* code 2232 suggested broken connection to air mass sensor...repaired but
no change to behaviour
* code 2242 suggests CO-potentioneter voltage low?
* code 2212 throttle potentiometer out of range?
* code 4431 Idle air control valve, had unplugged to determine effect on
throttle
* code 1111 Bad ground to ECU?
Replaced distributor cap, rotor, plugs. Inspected vacuum lines visually for
leaks. Air mass sensor tested in spec to Bentley.
Suggestions?
