Adding Bluetooth to '08 TT (Concert II)

About a year and a half ago I added a Kufatec Fiscon handsfree kit to my OEM B7-A4 RNS-E (nav/MMI gen 1) system and it works pretty well. Installation was fairly easy (compared to replacing a Bose system in a 200q20v for instance) - the mic does stick out just a little above the (interior rearview) mirror because I didn't take apart the overhead console to hide it in there, just ran the cord around the door to windshield. There is also some re-coding of the car's various control units to do, for which I got my own copy of VCDS. Works with steering wheel controls, dash display, MMI screen, etc.

Looks like you would want the "basic" handsfree kit from kufatec.us for your Concert as opposed to the "basic plus" kit I got for my RNS-E. I'm not sure what cable option to select as the Kufatec site is just a bit confusingly translated. You would also have the option of retrofitting an RNS-E and/or completely replicating the factory Bluetooth setup but those would be significantly more expensive. I got my kit from oemplus.com but that site isn't responding for me today. Compared to a full OEM Bluetooth system I think I lost the ability to use voice commands (hey Siri) without touching the phone itself, however the Fiscon kit does allow audio streaming from the phone with A2DP (monaural only, sadly) which I don't think the OEM does..

Finally managed to snag a TT (3.2L Quattro Coupe), and am quite happy with it except for the lack of integrated Bluetooth, mostly for phone calls.  Got used to that feature in our '07 Q7, and it's also in our replacement 2010 Q5.

I believe I have the Concert II stereo, with three buttons on either side for radio station presets and CD changer controls.

Would love some kind of system with little manual intervention needed, so adding a BT-FM modulator gizmo as the simplest/cheapest option isn't quite what I'm after.  Closest to the built-in system to the Q5/Q7 would be ideal.

Any suggestions on 'best' ways to proceed?  Can I look for an MMI-style head unit to swap in, or better off with a 3rd-party head deck, or is there a nice, fairly seamless way to add BT to the existing factory stereo?
