[s-cars] all around good replacement tires for 2000 S4

Well especially depending on how you took the corner- if you went in
really hot and lifted, that would be very bad. You've not driven the
same
car w/ both S03 and Pilot Sport, right? It's really not a fair
comparison to
test tires on different platforms- each car has different handling
characteristics
and that really clouds the comparison. Of course, that means that very
few
of us have done a proper comparison test.

Maybe if we all go to Paul K.'s BBQ in CT we can really do a proper
comparison
depending on what tires show up? If I make it, I'll bring my 255/40R17
HTR-ZII
to compare vs. other brands and sizes.

So far, I'm not impressed with the dry handling characteristics of the
HTR-ZII-
they seem to make noise a lot earlier than my AVS Sport, they don't seem
to have
the grip of the AVS Sport and road feel. I think the AVS Sport probably
has a
much stiffer sidewall, considering that the HTR-ZII ride much better
than the
AVS Sport- and these comparisons are even more dramatic considering that
the AVS
were worn out and these Sumitomos are brand new, about 1k miles on them
so far.

I'm thinking now that I should have gotten the 245/40R17 AVS
Intermediate for $69 ea.!
