I mostly echo Bob Pastore's comments. The only real difference is that I
have not actually ever purchased anything from Ned. Hmmm, need to do
something about that.
MTM/Hoppen: Like Bob said, the Stage 1+ is the shiznit. It's the Binary
Bomb that's always on baby! Lots of hyperbole in the archives. Find it,
read it, believe it. The software has my full endorsement. However...I
could never make direct contact with Hoppen (the company). Among other
possibilities, this almost certainly has to do with the fact that Hoppen has
continued to service new models and I promise you that we are not even on
the radar any more (and actually haven't been for some time). My solution
to this customer service issue was to develop a good relationship with Keith
Anderson (we kind of have that "Good ol' Boy" (tm) thing going on), who has
a good relationship with Mike Hoppen and that has seemed to do the trick.
I'm about to upgrade my MTM Stage 1+ to Stage 3+ through
Anderson/Hoppen/MTM. I'll let you know how that goes.
IA: I have ridden in Keith Maddock's "One Lap" S4, which uses Ned's hybrid
turbo and Stage III software. The ride was too isolated for me to make any
comparisons, but the car was very fast. Ned worked very closely with me as
I prepared to help support Keith's car during his local stint during the One
Lap. Keith was having problems (with his car, not with Ned's software) on
the road and Ned was remotely diagnosing the problems and trying to work
with everyone to get them solved. We even coordinated an overnight package
delivery to the track location, in the hopes that some particular hardware
would do the trick. As others have already said, Ned will give you first
class support and will work with you if you decide to develop your car
further. Unlike Hoppen (anymore), Ned still just specializes in the I5
Turbo. We are definitely on his radar. Heck, he's here right now! ;-)
Mine the archives. There is tons of BTDT. Certainly, there will always be
a few dissenting opinions, but look for the trends and you will find the
truth.
Now, let's get back to the TAP vs. Motodyne debate...

"I was sitting at the light at McNeil and 183 this morning waiting to turn
onto 183 when I heard a roar and a whoosh and there was a flash of dark red
off to my left. If I was not mistaken I think it was Jimmy's S4..."
