[s-cars] 100 octane gas vs. water injection

Rod,

No sweat.

For me, I had gotten to a HP level where I could not realize it all until I
fixed a "bottleneck", which was intake temp/heat soak. That was clear during
the summer, on the track all the time and even on the street.

So I looked into the various methods, and water seemed like the least
expensive, most effective, bang for the buck solution. An intercooler to do
the same job as the water would have been at least three times as expensive,
required bodywork, paint, etc., and my budget just did not allow for that.
Now I can get all the power I'm making, and if I want to go up in power, the
water can be upsized as well with a bigger nozzle and still keep intake
temps low. Plus if I ever get a different turbo car (god forbid!), I can
move it over with me.

Plus, with the ~$2000 I saved, it'll pay for eight more track events next
season. :)

I'm curious about cylinder pressure as well....you think it's much
different/worse than 26 lbs of boost to begin with? Maybe time for a metal
head gasket!

Bruce
