The big trucks in Europe in truck racing use
watercooled brakes- you see huge sprays of water
coming out of the wheels just before the corners,
it's quite spectacular.

I think they actually start spraying before max
braking occurs, probably lessens heat buildup. I
would imagine that you would naturally have to use
pads that bite at a lower temp than your typical
race pads for this to be effective, as the water is
going to soak up a lot of heat.

I thought mist the brake rotors will actually brake them because of the
difference of temperature between hot rotor and cold water. I don't
recall any race car using a such system. Can anyone confirm ?
