Paul:
Glad you and your buddy are OK. Here's another take on the moral of the
story:
1. Seatbelts save lives.
2. This wreck didn't happen because your friend lifted off the throttle --
this wreck happened because your friend got himself (and you) into a
situation he didn't know how to handle. He was driving way over his head.
3. Driving 90 mph through a 25 mph curve on a public highway is criminal
insanity in ANY car.
4. There's no substitute for driver training. Sounds like your buddy needs
to find a track and take a driving school or two.
5. Yes, German cars kick ass. But you can get killed and kill others in them
just as fast as in any car if you don't know what you're doing.
6. As long as this remains "the sweetest thing [you've] ever experienced,"
you won't be driving any of my cars!
Again, I'm so glad everyone came away unscathed. I hope you and your buddy
can use this experience to avoid ever having to go through it again.
