[s-cars] Re: S-CAR-List digest, Vol 1 #568 - 13 msgs

Mine went on just fine. I had enough good hose clamps lying around with
beveled sides to do the job, so no extra parts other than a 2" length of
copper tube to join the two part hoses.

I know EXACTLY what you meant about tight fit though. I spit on mine, as I
didn't want any lub left on the hoses such as silicon to help them come
loose after install should a clamp not be tight enough. You could also use
KY or other water based lubes that 'Go Away' shortly after use. All my
hoses were the right length, in fact the IC to Crossover seemed a bit long,
and not nearly flexible enough to work with the movement of the motor in
relationship to the rest of the car, but I guess it's ok. I did the Turbo
to Xover last because I wanted to spend a little more time on that side
replacing the BOV with one I found on a Saab 900 turbo (Used the same part
as the Porsche one folks here have been using!!!) and wanted to check for
oil comming from the Turbo. NONE! WOW! 100k and still no oil comming outa
the turbo. I may get 150 out's this one (Darn, no excuse to upgrade to RS2
parts yet).

The Test Drive... Ahhh Houston, we have fixed a problem here! I certainly
had a boost leak somewhere that is all better now. Boost on the boost gague
now hits the 7th bar (I got the LED boost gague from the dude in Texas, he
used my pics on his site it came out soo clean). That means I should be
hitting somewhere around 32psi (That is total at sea level, so I think I'm
boosting somewhere around 19-21 absolute?)

One VERY satisfied customer. Thanks Ann and James, you two did a FANTISTIC
JOB!

Eric
