[s-cars] 94 S4 Paint Problem!

Hi all,
I am new to the list so be gentle. I have owned for the last 2 years a 94 S4
with Emerald Green paint. Over the last 4-5 months I have noticed some weird
scratch marks on the hood of the car and on the roof, but nowhere else. The
scratches are not deep. You can't catch a nail on them, but they are there.
I also noticed some rusting when you open the hood and look along the side
of the hood. I have seen several other posts about complaints about the red
paint S4's. What about the Emerald Green? Is this a factory problem? Are
there any others here with the same problem? I took the car today to a place
in CT that does probably the best paint work in the State and they gave me a
guesstimate of about 5 grand because it needs to be redone. Any help would
be apprecitaed. Thanks!
