Yup... mine fell from the roof this morning, a nice hanging mess of wires while driving ! ugh... out comes the epoxy !

A few funny looks from other drivers in traffic ;-)

Time for a little musing.
Somehow the one-half of the plastic retainer pin on the plastic slider of
the light switch broke off, so the metal spring clip would no longer hold
the slider. I call the Audi dealer and ask for a new slider - the dealer
says what color? I think, Yeah!, I am on the right track. Then the
partsman tells me I have to buy the whole switch for $91.00 Canadian.

No way. I clip one of those little mini straws from small juice packs in
half vertically then cut it to the right length. Fill the half-tube with
epoxy and mount it next to the still-standing-half of the plastic retainer
pin. Let the epoxy dry for the obligatory 5 minutes and then press the
metal spring clip onto the newly formed shaft. Voila. Total cost,
zip. Already had the straw and glue in inventory.

Another memorable day in Audi land.
