The danger of taking it in the rear...  In my college days, I once rotated a
tire with similar symptoms to the rear.  When it did let go, the belt
separated from the carcass, and the result was a steel belted flap that slapped around
at the high speed at which I was traveling.  By the time I stopped, my rear
fender well was obliterated.  My thoughts... penny wise, pound stupid, unless
all your driving is city trolling.
