Wow, and I did not know Hap would ever even consider using the words "small"
and "turbine" in the same sentence, much less same paragraph!

In other FWIW information for those with a persistent and abiding interest
in the "numbers" games, from people who really focus assuring uniformity of
measurements to preserve the integrity of their class and way of life,
http://www.scca-enterprises.com/tech/tb0107-hp.html who, according to Dave
William and the Ultimate Garage, http://www.ultimategarage.com/dynapack.html
may be chasing their tails no matter what they do.

OTOH, as one former lister, oh heck all the crowd from West By Damn
Virginia, could be accused of saying, "If you got to play with your
relatives, them, 402 AWHP NCFS (not) ain't all that bad looking ...,"

FWIW, I believe the dynapack http://www.dynapack.com/graphframe.htm is
capable of graphing three different variations on horsepower, (a) a raw,
uncorrected figure; (b) a SAE Adapted (?1995 or) corrected figure; and (c) a
DIN "70020 (1976)" corrected standards. A formula for making the SAE J1349
Jun90 standard is set forth at http://wahiduddin.net/calc/cf.htm What is
less clear, is whether the Dynapack package also applies any adjustment or
correction factor to its reported torque figures. I'm told, at least so far
as software version 4.x something, that it does NOT apply any temperature or
barometric pressure reading to that figure. AFAIK, the particular dyno in
question has no provision for monitoring humidity which may be something
Dynapack is adding to their systems with version 5.x setups?

I believe the 402.4 hp IS a SAE corrected number (it says so on the chart)
BUT it is not a "TCF" (transmission correction factor) number, which is what
generated one of this lists previous lengthy round of threads on horsepower
posts (Mance's infamous total RS2 package 390hp** at "the wheels," BUT,
closer scrutiny would reveal, based on a fixed, constant 25% Driveline loss
recommendation) Scorning use of that factor, the TCF number, is what I know
Hap means when he says "Not Corrected for Snott (NCFS)."

Mike

** & as I recall, possibly 100+ octane in the tank.

PS Paul, I have attached for you information a spy photo of Hap & his first
Turbo.
