[s-cars] Crank seal tool #3203 (timing belt job)

S-car fans,
Started on the timing belt job this afternoon.  Rented
the tools from Chris at Force5, and reviewed Fred's
procedure at urs4.com.  Job is going pretty smoothly
so far.  I have gotten everything apart and am now
trying to get the crank seal out using the #3203 tool.
 I guess my question is how far do you thread the
outer portion of the tool into the crank seal?  I have
been backing out the center section, and threading the
outer portion into the seal as far as it will go
without using a whole lot of force.  Then I thread in
the center section, but every time it just seems to
thread in and pop the outer portion of the tool out,
and the seal stays put.  Any advice?
