that's interesting. somebody else put G60 calipers on A8 rotors and
loved the change. wasn't that graydon?
my point here was that the larger rotors used in the brake upgrade mean
greater braking torque, because the caliper acts at a greater distance
from the center of the rotor. increasing the rotor diameter by itself
(and moving the caliper radially outwards by a corresponding amount) will
produce more brake torque for a given line pressure.

i have no doubt that the brembos are a substantial improvement over the
G60s. but the effect of going from an 11" rotor to a 12" or 13" rotor
is huge. on my mustang, i've gone from 12" to 13" rotors with everything
else staying exactly the same (same caliper, same hub, same rotor thickness,
etc.). modulation becomes easier, for example.

don't look at me. i think the humongous calipers are overkill for a
street car, perhaps not so much for track use. the dinky little brembo
4-pot calipers used on the vipers work pretty well even on the track.
