That chiffing at shift caused by the BPV is especially loud in my car. This
can be attributed to the pressure differential on either side of the throttle
body as the butterflly closes with throttle position when I lift the gas pedal
to shift. The bigger the turbo and the higher the flow, the more pressure
differential there will be. The more pressure differential, the more pronounced
the BPV action will be. Add in the mandatory, for major hp players, Pederhousen
Big MAF/SVT snorkel filter box constructed of plastic and you have the perfect
combination of parameters to ensure a loud Bypass Action(BA). This might be
thought of as akin to a major bowel movement:-)
Fred, my car sounds exactly like the S1 that you sent the video of a while
back. I get that sound at every shift. The ricer boys snap their necks as I
drive by.
