I have been reading all of this for the last 2 weeks about pressure drops and
the relative merits/demerits of 2 i/c's versus one. A quick way to tell
whether there is going to be substantial issues with expansion/contraction is to
look at the difference in area between the Intercooler core and the inlet and
outlet pipes. Heat generated by compression will be dissipated in the next
stage, the pressure gradient in a system that is flowing so much air will have such
a short timespan that it will be for all intents and purposes
instantenous(i.e. dont spend too much time worrying about two stages of i/c). The two
Intercooler idea has some merits, the parts are more readily available, you do not
create any additional restrictions to the air going to the radiator.

There are many intelligent arguments and proposed solutions. I am waiting on
2 spare Intercoolers that I will start to play with over the spring, I will
keep you posted.
