[s-cars] Hap: You read between the lines incorrectly (more)

Hap: In no way was I suggesting that you were an unsavoury, win-at-all
cost, kind of guy. You are an improvement leader and you are a sharing
kind of guy. What I was suggesting to Cody is like Ian Duff suggested:
you are already so far out there with the mods and, seemingly unlimited
funds (<g>), you are essentially in a league of your own (okay, shared
by a very few S-car fanatics (e.g. Mike P)), that Cody (or ______) could
"hurt" themselves just trying.

What I was really thinking about when I was typing the Deep Breath email
was when I attended the 1999 Water Environment Federation conference in
New Orleans. The first day of the conference, after dining, in Bourbon
St., a collegue from my firm and I met two engineers (unnamed pending
completion of the investigation) from another firm that we knew. One
guy was younger and the other guy was a legendary drinking, smoking,
partying man with seemingly no limits on the amount he could drink or
smoke or for how long. The young guy was trying to keep the pace with
the older guy but he was very obviously losing, badly. I suggested to
him that he should give it (the "keeping up" thing) up. With
half-glazed eyes, and a sly grin, he slurred, "No way". I wished him
well and said good night (it was 2 AM and we had presentations at
8:30). Well, the older guy was there at 8:30 AM looking all chipper,
he'd been up till 4 AM. The younger guy didn't show up until after
lunch and looked like s**t. I just didn't want Cody to end up,
figuratively, the same way.

I hate getting old. I am starting to pretend that I have "wisdom" to
share.
