[s-cars] Aquamist Impressions-WAS DIY FMIC - Almost done, hit a small snag

Brian,

I have thought about tapping the turbo scroll (RS2 turbo) for an pyrometer
to monitor EGTs. What gauge did you use, and where exactly did you tap the
scroll? I am thinking about an Autometer Phantom gauge (5743). Click
ATM-5743 at link:

http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=esearch.asp&N=100&Ntk=PartS
earch&Ntt=atm-5743&x=11&y=8

As well as 5249 probe kit (click ATM-5249 at link):

http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=esearch.asp&N=100&Ntk=PartS
earch&Ntt=atm-5249&x=17&y=10

However, this kit includes a "weld-on" fitting, which I will not be able to
use since the scroll is cast iron. I cannot tell from the info at Summit or
Autometer, if I can just tap directly into the scroll casting with the
hardware that is provided. My concern is the extreme temps that this
hardware has to survive (thus those $20 exhaust/turbo flange extra special
Audi nuts/bolts)

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
TIA
