Tim,

Sounds more like tire issues. Don't have experience with either tire,
however. 
The alignment may cause the greater understeer (-1.5 going to -0.5) if it
was done on the front, however IMHO the majority cause is the tires. Not
to sound stupid, but did you check the pressures on the tires. They sound
underinflated.
