i should clarify here real quick-
i did not mean to question Taka's statement on the power potentials at
all. fully agree the 4.6L is more than capable of some SERIOUS power
w/o any internals being beefed up- this is also actually one of my
points to why i question the latter half of the statement. w/ that, yes
i was referring to the "later" versions of the 'stang. i agree, they
are a simple platform and there is something to be said for that
simplistic, raw platform and trying to obtain a real monster from that.
i can't though even begin to really consider that this platform can out
"handle", in any condition, the very nature of the beast we all have
learned to love that is audi and the quattro system.
serious, serious money has to be anted up ( as alex and teddy both
point out) to be abel to compensate for a far less than acceptable
chassis set up and be able to compete w/ a "stock" Urs. that is really
my point here. i mean, i could get anything w/ 4 wheels under the sun
and with enough $ and time, make it handle as good or better than
anything else out there. it is just here that the issue becomes moot.
it is not the same car anymore and so the original statement of "and
the car still handles much better than the Audi" becomes inaccurate or
skewed. my question still stands though, what about your '87 mustang in
stock form? will it still drive circles around your stock S4, teddy?
again, not trying to start a flame war here and i actually love to
feeling of dropping the hammer on a big RWD american V8 but i was
simply questioning Taks's quest for another new car based on those
assumptions.
sincerely,
matt ludwig.
