exactly.  my car wears 996 calipers with euro A8 rotors (BIRA system 3),
and they get the job done well.  i'd rather take the money that would have 
been spent upgrading to BIRA system 6 (996tt calipers) and add water injection
instead.  or even better, buy a new set of toyo RA-1s for my spec miata.
