Bob-
I stayed in Winchester, VA, when I went to Summit Point. The reason I
like that option better than Charles Town is because it is much closer
to other stuff- restaurants, bars, stores, etc.

I stocked up on Gatorade and other stuff at the local Super Wal-Mart
in Winchester. Easier to find gas stations from that end as well. Make
sure you bring enough gas to get you to the nearest gas station unless
you plan on buying gas when the pumps are open. Also make sure you
have exact change when buying gas at Summit. It's much cheaper to buy
93 outside of the track, but if you're looking for 100+, then the
track is your only easy option.

Of course I can picture Bruce in the paddock with a gas can and a jug
of toluene, mixing up homebrew 110 octane, with the Hazmat respirator,
apron, long gloves and face shield. :-)

I've been told the Charles Town motels are rather "rustic."
