Bob-
My concern with losing stock DRLs is insurance- I wouldn't want to be in an
accident and be
blamed by the insurance company for "disabling a safety device," or some
stupid nonsense
like that.

I guess the Valeo ballasts that Volvo uses are slow to light off, because
they're useless to flash.
