I thought that was just a Texas thing, where they have the wide  
shoulders
on the two lane or four lane roads.  You just have to watch out for  
Jim Bob
making his way home from the local joint without any lights on his  
pickup.
Good HID's are essential to see the Armadillos crossing the road  
since the
collision may send you off the road.  They have deer too, but they  
don't have
to cross the road as much.
I hope we are not going to get into widespread counseling on driving  
habits
and bragging on abilities since the  excellent advice hasn't been  
well received
in the past.  :-)
I suspect that cold human shoulder at home takes away most of the  
feel good.
