[s-cars] Bucking under full throttle

Harold,

I had a problem that sounds like this. When I was under full
acceleration (boost) the car would buck, adn buck hard. This was
normally around 3500-4000 rpm.

After many months of frustration I finally pulled code 2224, which is
an indicator of an overboost situation. The reason several people will
tell you to check your hoses is because a bad leak can cause this
problem. BUT a bad MAF or connection at the MAF can also cause this
problem.

When the ECU thinks the car is overboosting it cuts off the fuel, which
slows teh car dramaticly (imagine that), then restarts the fuel again.
When the MAF is either bad or has a bad connection at the MAF cable, it
can read the boost wrong and incorrectly tell the ECU the car is
overboosting.

I found this information here:
http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/trouble_shooting/20vboost.html#oboost

I simply cleaned the contacts on my MAF and its cable with electrical
contact cleaner and the problem went away.

Good luck
Hope This helps
Chris
