Slight correction: The S4s started in 1992 and ran 1992, 1993 and 1994. The S6s started in 1995 and ran until 1997, except in the US where the 1996s were called 1995.5s and were built from July 1995 to Dec. 1995 with VINs that started with 121xxx. Dave F.
