Why not an S6 Avant? I replaced my '93 S4 with an '02 S6 as daily 
driver for 100 mile, mostly freeway round trip commute in May. The car 
is smooth, fast and a gas to drive. Even the tiptronic, which I thought 
I would hate, is not too bad. Very impressive, so far. I've been 
surprised by the mileage. Speed limit around here is 70 or 75, and I 
usually take the 9 or 10 MPH fudge factor. I've been getting a 
consistent 21-22 MPG, I expected 17. Lastly, they are cheap. Since I 
bought mine, the bottom has dropped out of the market. I guess I'll 
have to keep it :)
