[s-cars] 1988 90 quattro - good or bad?

No brake pressure accumulators on NG-equipped cars as they use
vacuum-assisted brakes. I own an 89 90q with 225,000 miles on the original
clutch as well. I would say that they are very reliable but neglect can
leave them wanting maintenance (like all Audis, eh?)
Common wear items include strut mounts, control arm bushings, subframe
mounts, rear diff mounts... well... pretty much anything that is rubber.
Most running issues are easily corrected since the CIS-3 system is simple to
work on. Most maintenance parts are inexpensive and can be had through the
various european aftermarket suppliers.
To top it off, my 89 gets 35 mpg on the freeway :) Now to go wrap up that
timing belt job...
Richard
