Chris and CO.,
I repaired my clutch rod almost a year ago and have no problems. Used
Ace Hardware parts as described elsewhere.

I used existing rod end, cut it off at rubber holder (dampner?), cut
1/4-20 threads onto rod end, then used a 1/4-20 spacer with a 6.0mmX1
cap screw to complete assembly into clevis (the 6.0mm cap screw will
force fit into the 1/4-20 spacer and with some J.B. Weld for extra
measure it has not come apart).

I think this setup is stronger than the stock with the rubber dampner.
The rubber dampner is a weak link and as far as I can tell who cares if
you get a little clutch vibration due to a direct link to MC.

I have a sketch of what I did if anyone is interested send me a PM.
