Yes, even at altitude, Dave's car is making boat loads of power "as is."
And if he gets everything else dialed in, .... well the way these things
seem to go, the problems will move to some other place in the power train
:-)

That said, I spent this last weekend at an Audi Club sponsored drivers ed
event at PPIR where the Don (Frank Amoroso) put in his appearance as an Audi
Club instructor driving his immaculately maintained Black w/ Yellow accents
'93 UrS4.

Frank's car is, I think, now basically a fully RS2'ed AAN with customized
chip software by Mihnea Cottet. Let me just say Frankie baby is flat
HUSTLING that car around the track .... and that's just with "paltry" RS2+
something power. This may seem like blasphemy, but, .... other than for
drag racing, I'm not really sure what you can/could safely do with a whole
lot more power in the existing chassis setup. I'm at the point, given the
choice, I'm not sure I'd be willing to push my Green UrS4 around the track
like Frank is, or as hard as I can run with the Rx8 at the same track...
it's not a lack of power any more, as much as it is chassis and suspension
issues.

In two weeks we go back to the same venue for two days, one day of which
will be to run with the local Ferrari club ....., that'll be interesting

Mike, wait let me go get my nomex suit on, P

Damn Mike- I thought Dave was hitting 442whp uncorrected, which would be an
insane
amount of power at sea level. 442whp is pretty insane even corrected,
considering my 2.5L tin can is probably running around 220whp, of course
that's bone-stock.

Geeze Taka, you're going to get Hap all excited talking like that!! :-)

No, I'm pretty sure Dave's 442 ATW figure is an SAE adjusted number, so an
allowance has already been made for test altitude, temperature and humidity.
If Dave hadn't lost his dyno disk, MAC's software (google search/find
"runviewer7) will allow him to print off a totally uncorrected "raw" dyno
number. On my Rx8, just as an example, a SAE corrected 186 bhp/134 ft-lbs
SAE "atw", will convert to 145.69 bhp /104.76 ft/lbs at approximatly 5,400'
etc. with the dyno's software correction factors set to "none" Pathetic,
isn't it?

For the Green Garbage can, before Liminey Snikets and "... an unfortunate
series of events...." the best peak SAE numbers I ever saw on the same dyno
Dave has been using, were 429bhp total power/381 total torque SAE adjusted;
translates to 347 bhp/308 ft-lbs unadjusted for altitude etc.
