Aaron,
 1. The VMAP is easy. Just 3 pins to desolder. A pair of needle nosed pliers
to gently pull on the legs while you apply heat to the solder is a good
trick. You will have to bend the legs on the original Bosch to get them out
but who cares. 2.5bar Bosch sensors aren't really worth that much.
 2. The chips are a bit harder because you have to get all the legs free to
make them budge. Tony suggests not using a vacuun solder sucker. I use both
the sucker and the solder wick. One works better in some situations than the
other. The chips can't heatsink infinite amounts of heat. But it only takes
a few seconds to melt the solder and remove it. The chips can certainly take
that even if you have to do it a couple of times.
