Sean pointed out that we should maybe be talking about projectors, and not reflectors.  The high beam reflector is plastic in both versions.  I can't comment on the projectors, however, because I don't know.

Don't the US lamps have plastic reflectors while the euro lights have metal?
Wouldn't that suggest that high wattage bulbs would be risky in the US
lamps?
