Well it is still doing it!
Background:
It appears to be coincedental at this point, but after installing the 1.8T
coilpacks and wiring harness the car will die, no fire on any cylinder.
After a period of time it will restart, usually after an $85- tow is
completed!
Last night it happend with a cold engine less than 5 mins after start up.
Annoying!
I do have a new bit of information however.
It died just as I was moving it into the garage, and to get it out of the
way I cranked the starter in 1st gear to move it into the garage and it
started!
It died again this morning a couple of times and again when I cranked it in
gear it started right up!
So, tell me, what does that indicate to you?
I'm thinking a couple of things might react to the starter being engaged.
the Starter Interlock Relay, but I dont really understand why.
The Control Module for the Motronic ECU. Porsches are notorious for this
failure, what about S-Cars? Has anyone had this fail, and what were the
symptoms?
The only wire in the ignition circuit common to all cylinders comes from the
ECU, pin 27. These connections were just all cleaned with Stabilant so they
should be good!
Any other thoughts?
Any ideas are appreciated!
Thanks,
John
