How does the cost of all the parts and labor of an engine rebuild (either for a stroker or just same dispalcement) compare to purchasing an already-built motor from a shop that does it? Eurospec sells short blocks and long blocks including 2.6L engines. I've read some negative things about their rods, but I also know an Audi mechanic who is very happy with his Eurospec motor that he had them build with different rods (Carillo I think). So the rods can be a non-issue. Anyway, just wondering what the typical outlay is for getting an engine rebuilt aside from the rods and pistons.
