There is no doubt that it increases the volume between the turbo
outlet and the throttle body. I used my Samco turbo down hose to 2.5"
pipe to the IC. Then 2.5" pipe to the Samco throttle body hose.

As for changing of boost threshold, now that I am at sea level, I
can't give you any real comparative data...

I "felt" like it increased a couple of hundred RPM after the initial
install, but I didn't do any measurements.
