Manny t-boned'ed:

<<<Victim is a '89 BMW E30 325iX. Wife and kids are OK fortunately, but
now I've got to deal with the Insurance Co. These cars are rare, and I
just spent about 3K in repairs/replacements for some unique AWD parts.

Thanks in Advance, please feel free to mail off list if you choose.

Manny-

Bummer man, bummer. Obviously great to hear on the everyone OK bit of
course - but that blows. I've always dug those, nearly got one but
opted for the 2.3-16 at the time. Great mindz think alike, or lack of
think in my case.

Shame after what you just refurbed. You can go down the road you speak
but you're going to have to do your research online collecting data
points to submit to the company to substantiate the 'inherent' value,
and that may not get you much more than what little they're going to say
I bet. A few here have (2 time Avanting //Serge, hit Manny up if you
haven't yet) but UrS's are newer and easier (in relative terms) to show
accreted value than an '89 E30 (in insurance's eyes).

Plus as a fellow family man / professional (in my case professional
idiot), ***time*** will be your biggest cost in the matter to part it.
Not enough time these days to bother unfort., unless it's really going
to pay out - which it very well may not (I could be wrong / hope better
for you!).

Again, bummer man. Good luck, condolences, etc. Whatchya gonna get her
to replace? Not an easy proposition...

-Paul better you than me K.

ps. any idea on the 'rare' bit? I dig import data as well I'm a dork
