I think I just got the last radio from Audi for my 93 S4. When I installed
it, the 1st preset button was stuck and I couldn't set the 1st digit of the
security code. That's when the bad news came back. One years warranty but no
more radios.

Just tonight I tapped it with and again tried to set the code, damn, it
worked.

So, now that I have Audi on the line for an aftermarket repair, the radio
has decided to work. Before I let them off the hook I have one question:
 
Do the [up] and [dn] arrow buttons (for tape advance and tuning) have a
click step in them like the other buttons? 

Mine operate ok BUT don't have the feel of the other buttons. I seem to
recall this problem in my failing radio where I would go over a bump and the
station would change.
