My 2 major pieces of advice:

1) Never, ever touch the drain plug with anything but a 6-point wrench.

2) Put the front up on ramps to replace the belly pan.  After you've done it 
a few time you might be able to do it without the ramps, but it's pretty 
difficult.

If you're as klutzy as me, a rag stuffed at the bottom edge of the filler 
hole will catch your bad aim when pouring in the new oil.
