I couldn't find my Feb.94 issue of European Car at home to check the
stat's I quoted on Sept. 22.  Finally found the mag today (at work). 

It was a I5 2.5 L turbo diesel (TD NOT TDi),  115 hp at 4000 RPM and
196 lb-ft of torque at 2250 RPM in a C4 body Audi 100.   The test was
co-sponsored by Audi and Continental tires and was held at Continental's
2200 m high speed test track with "semi-circular" high speed banking at
each end,  near Hanover Germany. The completed 2800.4 km (1750 mi or so)
on the single 80L tank of diesel.  Not bad.
