Eric,
So you now have stock shocks and struts with Eibach lowering springs and 18" rims?
How much did the springs lower the car? I assume you don't have wheel clearance issues or any tire rubbing around corners.
I am trying to get an idea of what fits well on the car and would like to lower the ride a bit. The H&R lower 1.3" all around.
And you had the 2B camber plate? Did you get a refund from the rattle noise? The website says it is guaranteed. Should be for $595.
Do you have a link to "Igor's" OE mod?
Thanks,
Aaron Ryba

Subject: Shocks and Springs - S6
I installed Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks/struts on my S6. I found the
shocks to be too stiff for daily driving. The car felt as if the tires had 100
psi so I removed them and reinstalled the OE shocks and struts. The car now
rides better than ever.
Be aware that when you lower, you will almost certainly have to deal with
camber issues. I had slotted the upper strut mount but alignment was not
in spec.I vowed to monitor tire wear carefully but was watching the tire in the
wrong place. The tread did not show wear - rather the inner shoulder that
wore right down to the belts.
I replaced SP 9000's ($O,uch) and installed 2 Bennett upper strut
mount plates. With these, alignment was in spec and the car drove
great. The 2 Bennetts, however are all metal - the rubber upper strut
mount is gone - and the plates transmit noise. The
noise was in the form of a low speed 'rattle'. So I removed the 2
Bennetts and did Igor's modification on the OE upper strut mount
plate.
Good Luck
Eric
