Martin:  Both the fuel pump and CPS will die on you like that. However,
the fuel pump does NOT send any Check Engine light signals - but the CPS
does.  SO, what you need to do is pull the codes using the procedure at
Scott Mockry's website:

The CPS is 2113.

There are some inexpensive alternatives to the dealer.  Post your codes
and I (or someone else) will lead you to the cheap CPS source.
