Well, that appears unanimous for what not to buy.
That is Meyle that
has recently entered the market with the low priced
(and low quality
for
the most part) audi parts. The need in Europe is
obvious with all
those
C4 body cars going east and the parts supply
dwindling. There is also
a Mahle parts supplier in Germany that has supplied
many OEM and
quality aftermarket parts for Audis for many years.
This is one set of emails that Keith M can read at
work and even show
to his boss. :-)
Some of the lines between parts brands are blurring as
there are more
consolidations in the industry worldwide, so sometimes
it is
difficult to
identify the source of some parts. I think Girling
was one of the
original
OEM suppliers for control arms when the cars were in
production. So,
now TRW is supplying Audi with replacement parts.
Since Pelican Parts is such a well known supplier of
quality Porsche
parts, and this list was of no assistance in assessing
the worth of the
Karlyn parts, (that is what I originally asked,
remember? :-)), I
will look at
them first hand and decide for myself. There may be
some value in a
part selling for 1/4 the cost of a TRW arm, or maybe
it's just pissing
upwind. :-) The price will only be a restocking fee.
Thanks to all for the comments. I have had a set of
Lemforder arms on
the sedan since February 2001, and they seem as tight
as new after 50K.
