[s-cars] Wiper blade lifting problems...

I know that's not the answer you were looking for but, with spring steel
whipers becoming so common, I would choose a whiper fix. These spring steel
wipers are really the answer to all the problems I've encountered: lifting,
freezing, rusting, uneven pressure, slow whipers at high speed.
In Canada, any part shop will have them, one flavor or another, even
Wallmart. So I suppose it should be the same in US. I've tried wind
deflectors on previous cars but they all have the same problem: if they're
not designed for your car they will either apply too much or too low
pressure at high speed, slowing down the whiper if the motor's getting old
or not removing all the mud when you're following a truck on a dirty
potholeful road (something may be more common in Canada than US).
So, from the worst roads of North America, BTDT, spring steel whipers are
THE solution, even when frozen whipers are not so much a problem.

Objet : [s-cars] Wiper blade lifting problems...
Gents:
A while back, I read something, somewhere, about how to modify our
wipers to keep the driver's side blade down at speed. I get it
lifting off the glass at about 80mph, and this doesn't make me very
happy.
Somebody took a B4 wiper arm and stole the wind deflector off of it to
put on a C4 car, but I can't find the link or the write up anywhere.
I understand that the B5 cars wiper arm, mit deflector, is a straight
swap.
Can anyone shed light on this? I'd rather not have to buy a set of
new blades with wind-deflectors built in - I just want to do a
one-time fix-it that retains the OEM-type blades and inserts, such
that if I need to replace an insert, or a blade, I can do that
locally.
TIA,
Eric
