[s-cars] General question - appropriate unloaded battery voltage

i use an optima red top.  for a while, the car was sitting for weeks at
a time, and i didn't have trouble starting it.

i'd just turn on the headlights (high beams), run the stereo, and run
the HVAC at maximum fan speed with the engine off, and check the voltage
at the battery.  won't be the same as cranking the car, but that's a
pretty substantial load.
