Larry,
I think Grant is on the right track. About 12.8 volts should indicate
fully charged for a standard 12 volt lead/acid battery, somewhat
temperature dependent. It should be removed from the charger
for several hours before measuring voltage.
The Odyssey battery manual table of charge has 12.84 or higher as
full charge state, 12.5 v = 75%, 12.18 = 50%, and 11.88 v = 25%, with
12.65 v minimum for installation (charge first). HTH
