brian,
check on audiworld for discussion of replacing the CV boots on the A4.
the axleshaft on my '01 S4 was hollow, so that trick didn't work, and
neither did the puller. the CV joint was also very firmly attached to
the axleshaft, so beating on it with a hammer didn't get me anywhere.
i ended up taking it to the dealer.
