[s-cars] for sale stuff

So, to put my (read "still another") 0.02¢ in the S-Car list administration
thread, here is my personal proposal for the S-Car list rules (just kidding,
in case that someone have been on this list for a while and nobody noticed
he fails on the main criteria required by the S-Cars unofficial rules: sense
of humour) (in-parenthesis part two: it is still relevant in the "for sale
stuff" thread, read the eighth commandment):

The Ten Commandments (or Decalogue) of the S-Car list (c.f. Wikipedia - I
may be kidding but I'm still cultured)

1 - I am the Lord your roads, who brought you out of the land of slow speed,
out of the house of slushbox. (In Other Words, say respect to urSes)

2 - You shall have no other car before me (IOW, you shall never say that
another car is faster, more fun, or _anything_ better than an urS)

3 - You shall not make for yourself an image, whether in the form of
anything that is a prototype, or that is a current year model, or that is a
classics car. (IOW, as we are very tolerant here, we accept images if you
agree that you shall not have in your garage, living room or bedroom a
picture (read "upgrade part" instead of "picture" if your name is Rossato)
of another car which is bigger than the picture of your urS; a bigger
picture of another lister's urS being tolerated if the owner of that said
urS is called Hap).

4 - You shall not bow down to other cars or worship other cars; for I the
Lord your roads am a jealous urS, punishing new urS owners for the iniquity
of P.O., to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me, but
showing steadfast love to the thousandth (audi gods are known to exaggerate
sometimes... in both ways) generation of those who love me and respect my
maintenance intervals. (IOW, you can respect the Green Monstah' but still
have to bow down to your own modded urS even if it's pale in comparison).

5 - You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your roads, for
the urS will not acquit anyone who misuses his name. (IOW, you shall not
call your urS bird names, such as S-bitch, BTDT, knowing the consequences,
and I can tell you you don't want to follow this route)

6 - Remember the maintenance day, and keep it holy. 60 thousands miles you
shall drive and enjoy all your WOT. But the 60,001 mile is a time-belt mile
for the Lord your roads; you shall not do any driving; you, your son or your
daughter, your male or female slave (read employee, that the word we use in
this modern era), your livestock (kitten, dog, fish, cf. a previous post),
or the alien resident in your towns (read S-Fest or simple GOT insane
attendee who ask to flog you car as it’s a common practice in this list).
For in sixty thousands miles Audi made the 5 cylinder, and the turbo, the 20
valves, and all that is in them, but rested the 60,001 mile; therefore Audi
blessed the 60,001 time-belt mile and consecrated it.

7 - Honour the older listers and the modders, so that your slippery slope
may be long in the land that the Lord of your roads is driving you to (IOW,
never provoke flames from Hap, Elijah, Jimmey, MarkS and a lot of others I'm
forgetting or you may be stuck in limp mode for a long long time).

8 - You shall not murder (IOW, you shall not total your car except if you
offer all your RS2ing parts to the list for half the price of the new
parts... i.e. you MUST offer it to the list before posting them on any Audi
marketplace... i.e. do not event think of posting them on eBay or the
thousandth generation will not be exaggeration anymore)

9 - You shall not commit adultery (IOW, you shall not own another car and
say it's better than the urS. Remember that Pizzo is a tolerated _exception_
for some reason no lister understand but he shall _never_ be considerate as
an example; Paul's urS8 is another story, it takes many years and several
rare qualities to try to match his contribution to the friendship he built
in the NErn part of this list, and to the envy and example he send to the
Rest-of-the-World)

10 - You shall not bear false witness against another lister (like saying
that the S-bitch was covered with bugs from bumper-to-bumper, or full of
illegally imported beers, or driven by an insane French Canuck with a
sinister accent, _even if it's the proven true truth_.)

(Here is a comment, with no Wikipedia or other Nobel-prize-level recognised
source, which says that as much as I respect Wikipedia I still find that the
Ten Commandments should stop at the tenth commandment, but we're all
open-minded listers so who really care about the exact number of
commandments as long as we can comment on (read "make fun of") them.)

11 - You shall not covet your lister’s garage(IOW, you shall not drop your
to-be-polished part in the suburb of an 24/7 polishing lister - it's too
long ago, and I'm too lazy to find out who's this parenthesis refers to but,
if your recognise yourself, you're strongly encouraged to put your name in
place of "an 24/7 polishing lister". On the other hand, inviting yourself in
the S-Fest because there's something wrong in the Lord of your roads but you
don't know what is accepted and even encouraged).

12 - You shall not covet a lister's urS (read "Hap mods"), or ox, or donkey,
or anything that belongs to a lister(except making a V8 porous when you're
invited to a GTG by the Master-of-all-JNRing)

And I truly believe that if it's enough for God(s), whatever the name(s) you
give to h(H)im, it should be enough for our S(never never type the "S"
lowercase, BTDT, and I will regret that for my entire life)-Car list.

Vincent
'96 S(whispering "s" when no one is listening)-BITCH
'81 Fiat Spider with her own mind too but she'd better keep it quiet with
her broken suspension.
Almost '96 328IS and long to be regretted but who knows if she wouldn't have
2,847 commandments instead of 10( or 12).

P.P.S.: Schultz cc'ed as I may have understood he may need the fun of
reading it as much as I needed the fun of writing it.

Hey Quattrohead...I don't think your suggestion is
reasonable..all though a nice gesture.

I think the administrators of each & every Audifans
list should GTG & see what can be done as to not add
to the amazing BW all these lists generate.

But again...I think if any/all of you have a problem
with the rules than you should bother Dan..I mean he
is the owner of all this help full info!

    I am sorry,

I don't think anyone who owns an s-car needs to be
ordered around by anad hitler.

If anyone wants to have a separate forum for the
s-cars, let me knowhere or via my email. I can set one
up real quick under my quattroheaddomain.

for sale stuffListers, I think this subject has been
HASHED out

WAY

too many times....I know that one can go both ways

on

this. But the fact of the matter is that FS
postsaren't allowed!

It has been hashed out a few times. I think ahealthy
dose of liveand let live needs to be inserted, and I
think thereasons I'vearticulated for my disagreement
with this particularrule arereasonable and moderate.

Zero-tolerance policies are set such that nobody hasto
think. Rulesare rules and that's it.

I don't think anybody is yelling at Brett, nor am
Iyelling at you,for that matter. I figure if we can
havediscussions about non-SAudis, then we can
certainly trade parts. Maybethat would be
thesolution. Parts for "trade".

I offer my 1993.5 UrS late-VIN driver's-side widgetfor
trade. Youcontact me off-list, and we work out
exactly whatthe trade would be.Let's say we work out
the trade to be I give you thehighly-desireablewidget,
and you give me 375.23 United States Dollars.

It's not FS, so it's not against the rules, right?

Everybody's happy, and no spam was actually sent toany
list.

What say you, boys?

Eric

Eric I love your reasoning don't get me wrong...I
aswell have a "widget FS"..said "widget" is the heart
ofany car..& the "widget" runs STRONG & for
$2,200United States Dollars it could be any ones
aswell...but again..FS ads have a place.

LMAO! Good one.

I do think that the marketplace is a wonder
fullresource..but a quick heads up on the list that
wouldneed the part the most wouldn't be bad
either..butagain see rule 1..(so to speak) FS ads
aren't allowedon the lists..only in the marketplace.

OK, for trade. Except that only gets around the
letter of the law,and not the spirit.

I don't think the powers that be have gotten
enoughcredit for what they do! I've been a lister for
round15yrs now & have seen all types of discussion &
thisone is brought up more than a "team door
handle"topic.

I there's a reason for it. There are folks like me
who have aninterest in not making any sort of profit,
but in making sure myfriends on the list have first
crack at my stuff. I think that whathappens is that
there are those folks who don't want to have to
thinkabout what situation is acceptable, and what
isn't. So a total ban isput in place. My solution
would be to enforce it selectively, becausethere are
obviously a wide range of opinions on what should and
shouldnot be allowed.

& as you mentioned I'm not casting a shadow on
you..oranyone..or talking down...or YELLING at
anyone.......but just like anyone of you out there
tell yourkids that there are certain rules that we
need tofollow as a society I think it's a bit of the
potcalling the kettle Black syndrome for us grown
adultsto contradict what we try to teach our
children..

I tell my kids that rules are sometimes colored in
grey, and not soblack-and-white. Some rules must
never be broken. Some rules may bebroken at great
need. And some rules exist only for the ego of
therulemakers and can be safely ignored**. As a
parent, I have toinstill proper judgement such that my
kids can tell which rules arewhich, and which ones
might be colored in between the shades I havedrawn in
here. Even around the house, there are such rules -
like"never, EVER touch Daddy's tools. If you need a
tool, Daddy witheither get you your own tool, or
fix/install the thing that needsdoing. Even the wife
knows (now) to obey that rule. The rule "don'tdrink
Daddy's last soda" is routinely ignored. :)**(Note:
the no FS postings list rule is *NOT* an ego-driven
one,IMO. Let me be PERFECTLY CLEAR on that!)I'm still
pulling for the "for trade, contact me off-list" kind
ofdeal, where widget trades might be initated for, oh,
$327.23 worth ofStarbucks common stock, for instance.
;)BTW, if I had a CQ, I'd love to trade for your
widget. I need an S2.
