[s-cars] S6 no start

Dennis,

There is probably some private wagering going on in several minds,
thinking the
2113 DTC will be stored when you read the codes. This is reinforced
by the fact
that it happens at the most inconvenient times-holiday and 109º
temps, etc. The
classic mode is the intermittent no-start after short runs probably
from a break in
the cam position sensor molded wiring that engine heat opens and closes.

The key is to observe the MIL (check engine light) during engine
operation and
when attempting to start. If it is on, don't shut off the engine at
an inconvenient
location if you are not sure why it is on, and observe that it goes
out when starting
or attempting to start. Hard to remember when you are trying to get
the ice cream
for the 4th home before the 109º temp melts it. :-)

Of course, this is just a guess from 800 miles away. If there are no
codes, I would
go looking at fuel delivery, an equally inconvenient problem.
